This Winnipeg school was designed in 1974 by Ward Macdonald Cockburn McLeod McFeetors for the River East School Division and built in 1975. During construction, it was decided to expand the facility with the addition of an attached community centre, also designed by the same architectural firm.

The school was opened officially with an open house on 4 November 1975 and the adjacent Valley Garden Community Centre, at 218 Antrim Road and completed at a cost of around $200,000, was opened on 21 February 1976.

In 2002, the school became part of the River East Transcona School Division.
