A 55,000-bushel wooden grain elevator at Portage la Prairie, on the CNR Gladstone Subdivision, was built in 1938 by McCabe Grain. A crib annex built beside it in 1951 increased its capacity to 130,000 bushels. By 1968, it held 158,800 bushels. Sold to United Grain Growers in March 1968, it was closed around 1994 and later removed from the site.
