This monument in the Rural Municipality of Rockwood commemorates early settlers of the Oak Hammock district. A bronze plaque attached to a large boulder indicates the land on which it is situated was donated to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation Habitat Foundation by Ernest G. Johnson whose parents C. W. “Swede” Johnson and Alma Johnson farmed the northeast quarter of 22-13-3E from 1915 to 1932. A second small plaque lists “Oak Hammock Buddies” Johnny Struchinsky, George Manchulenko, and Gothy Johnson who spent their formative years, 1923 to 1932, at Oak Hammock.
