Historic Sites of Manitoba: May House (43 Simcoe Street, Carberry)

A 1½-storey brick house on Simcoe Street in Carberry was the childhood home of aviator Wilfrid Reid “Wop” May. In June 2026, the Manitoba Historical Society unveiled a plaque commemorating May's residence here until 1902 when he and his family moved to Edmonton, Alberta.
