Historic Sites of Manitoba: Kings Theatre (1769-1771 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg)

This former theatre on Portage Avenue in Winnipeg was designed by the local architectural firm of Green Blankstein Russell and Associates and constructed in 1953 by the Sanitrar Construction Company for owner Harry Prygrocki. The following year, a 2,000-square-foot lounge designed and built by the same firms was added to the theatre at a cost of about $65,000.
