Historic Sites of Manitoba: Paterson Grain Elevator (Hope Farm, RM of Montcalm)

A wooden grain elevator on the Martins Spur (also called Hope Farm) in the Rural Municipality of Montcalm was built in 1934 by Paterson Grain, replacing an earlier elevator at the site dating from 1889. Closed on 31 July 1960, the elevator was used for additional grain storage by the Paterson elevator at St-Jean-Baptiste until it was sold to a local farmer in February 1966. It stood at the site until around 2009 when it was demolished.
