Historic Sites of Manitoba: Garson Garage and Service Station (163 Garson Drive, Garson, RM of Brokenhead)

This one-storey wood frame building at the northwest corner of Garson Drive (original Trans-Canada Highway) and Gillis Street in Garson, in the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead, was built in 1932 by proprietor Ed Strandberg (?-?) as a garage and service station. It originally featured a single repair bay and two gasoline pumps that sold Radio Oil brand gasoline. One of two service stations in Garson, Strandberg ran the business for a number of years before renting it to Les Zigarliski. Nick and Walter Skrupski operated it from 1946 to 1950.
