The Avon School District was organized formally in July 1919 and a one-room, wood frame schoolhouse operated at NE6-4-5E in the Rural Municipality of DeSalaberry. The district was dissolved in 1962 and its area became part of the St. Malo Consolidated School District.
Among the teachers at Avon School were Wilhelmine L. Malo (Fall 1941 - Spring 1942), Rose de Lima Malo (Fall 1942 - Spring 1945), and Olga Holodryzuk (Fall 1945 - Spring 1946).
