Northern Prairie Ships: Namao

Motor Vessel (MV) Namao was built in 1975 at Riverton by Alex Zagozewski and the Riverton Boat Works. Used originally by the Canadian Coast Guard, in 2005 ownership was transferred to the Lake Winnipeg Research Consortium for use in monitoring the health of Lake Winnipeg and other research studies. The Town of Gimli provides a permanent berth for MV Namao in its harbour.
