Historic Sites of Manitoba: Woolsery School No. 2017 (Municipality of West Interlake)

The Woolsery School District was established in November 1919 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at NW14-24-7W in what is now the Municipality of West Interlake. In 1936, the district was dissolved and its area became part of the Woodlea Municipal School District. The original district was re-formed in April 1958 and operated until 1967 it joined the Lakeshore School Division. At the time of a 2016 site visit, only remains of the school’s concrete foundation were visible.

Ritter (1922-1923), Susan Hammond (1924), John Haywood (1924-1925), Leslie V. Spear (1925), Myrtle Hanson (1925-1926), Lena I. Wilson (1926-1927), Sara Spicer (1927-1928), Marjorie L. Harper (1928-1931), Florence M. Wilkinson (1931-1932), Abram Peter Janzen (1932-1934), Irene C. F. Vince (1936-1937), Anna Gillespie (1940-1941), Katherine Unruh (1941-1942), Erma Krutz (1942-1943), Gladys Verena Barrett (1943-1944), Lorene Viola Warkentine (1944-1945), Myrtle Louise Marcinkowsky (1946-1947), Jacqueline Townsend (1947-1948), Clayton R.
