Historic Sites of Manitoba: Warelis Family Monument (Municipality of Ethelbert)

This monument in the Municipality of Ethelbert, erected in 2001, marks the homestead of the Warelis family. In August 1929, at the age of 2½ years, Ted Warelis immigrated from Poland and settled with his family on a farm on the northeast quarter of 3-29-21 west of the Principal Meridian. In 1950, he married Sophie Prokopowich and lived here until they moved to SW3-29-21W in 1954. They raised eight children.
