Historic Sites of Manitoba: Ukrainian Immigrants Plaque (Kildonan Park, Winnipeg)

A plaque in Winnipeg’s Kildonan Park was erected in 2004 by the Sons of Ukrainian Pioneers. It commemorates the thousands of Ukrainian immigrants who came to western Canada and endured such hardships as bad agricultural land, being interned during the First World War, Winnipeg General Strike of 1919, and the Great Depression of the 1930s.
