Historic Sites of Manitoba: Sunbeam School No. 1806 (RM of Piney)

The Sunbeam School District was organized formally in April 1914 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at NW7-1-10E in the Rural Municipality of Piney. In 1967, the district was dissolved and its catchment area became part of the Boundary School Division.

Among the teachers of Sunbeam School were Nazar Watcyk (1919-1920), W. H. Brown (1921-1922), Miss V. E. Whitman (1922-1923), Clement M. Averay Jones (1925-1926), Ada Dillon (1928), Harold Steeves (1931-1932), William Tanchak (1932-1935), Daniel James Reese (1935-1936), Nicholas Kosowan (1936-1937, 1942-1943), Walter C. Bilych (1938-1942), Mary Frances Nabozniak (1943-1944), Mary Bazinet (1945-1946), Annie Woroniuk (1946-1947), Isaac M. Fast (1947), Clarence Arthur Pischke (1947-1948), Ramona M. Strimbisky (1948-1949), Olga Stefiuk (1950-1951), Olga Malenko (1951-1952), John Jaman (1952-1953), Nestor M. Podolsky (1953-1959), John M. Chobotar (1959-1960), Metro Drewniak (1960-1961), Arlene Donna Podolsky (1961-1962), Leona Buyarski (1962-1963), Margaret Perchaluk (1963-1964), Sonia Marilyn Turich (1964-1965), N. Nykyforchyn (1965), and Nell Pauline Chobotar (1965-1966).
