The Rembrandt School District was established formally in March 1911 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at SW12-21-2E in the Rural Municipality of Armstrong. It was later relocated to SW11-21-2E by the 1930s. The school issued several debentures to finance and improve operations; taking out $1,400 in June 1916 to pay down fiscal oblications for building and equipping a schoolhouse, $1,900 in July 1916 to add an additional classroom to the existing school, $1,000 to build and furnish a three-room 20 feet by 20 feet teacherage, and $1,500 in January 1922 to finance final payments on both the schoolhouse and teacherage.
The district was dissolved in 1966 and its catchment area became part of the Arborg Consolidated School District No. 2441 and later the Evergreen School Division. The former school building was later used as a community hall.
The building appeared to be vacant at the time of a June 2016 site visit. Its door had been taken off its hinges and the interior had fallen into disrepair att the time of a June 2023 site visit.
