This monument, dedicated in Autumn 1980 by the Manitoba Chapter of the Wildlife Society, commemorates wildlife biologist Allan John Pakulak, who helped to restore the Oak Hammock Marsh from the formerly drained St. Andrews Bog which had existed in the region prior to the arrival of European settlers in the 19th century.
