Historic Sites of Manitoba: Pembina Block / Oakwood Block (692 Osborne Street, Winnipeg)

This three-storey brick block on Osborne Street in Winnipeg was designed as a two-storey, 46 feet by 57 feet structure by architect David A. Abramovitch and built in 1912. The first floor was occupied by retail stores and the second floor contained six residential apartments. Known initially as the Pembina Block, it was soon renamed the Oakwood Block. At some point, a third floor was added to the building.
