Historic Sites of Manitoba: Nanton Building (201-203 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg)

This four-storey building at the intersection of Main Street and Portage Avenue in Winnipeg was built between 1906 and 1907 by Griffin Brothers using steel provided by Dominion Bridge. It became the corporate headquarters of the investment firm of Osler, Hammond and Nanton and office spaces for other companies.

The building was demolished between 13 April and 4 July 1988, along with the adjacent Toronto-Dominion Bank and Childs Building, to make way for a 33-storey tower known in succession as the TD Centre, CanWest Global Place, and 201 Portage.
