The Millwood School District was organized formally in April 1887 and a school building was erected at Millwood in the Municipality of Russell-Binscarth. The school closed in 1968. The building was used for a time as a community centre but now appears vacant. A nearby monument commemorates pioneers of the community.
Among the teachers of Millwood School was Wilfred Theodore Morris (1925-1926).
