Historic Sites of Manitoba: Mayor’s Grove and First City of Winnipeg Crest Plaques (Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg)

Located in Assiniboine Park, these plaques and trees are located near the intersection of Pavilion Crescent and Assiniboine Park Drive. The Mayor’s Grove was officially opened by Mayor William Norrie on 21 October 1992 and was dedicated to Winnipeg pioneers who helped create Assiniboine Park. The original city crest, used from 1874 to 1972, is also displayed.
