Historic Sites of Manitoba: Johnson Apartments (524 Sargent Avenue, Winnipeg)

This three-storey brick block at the corner of Young Street and Sargent Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 43 feet by 90 feet, was designed by local architect John Hamilton Gordon Russell and built in 1905 by contractors W. A. Gilbert, Balderson, and Sveinn Brynjolfsson for owner A. Johnson. The street level hosted shops while the upper two floors contained residential apartments.
