Historic Sites of Manitoba: Doris Annamarie Janecke Plaque (Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg)

This plaque and planted tree are located in Saigon Park, on the north side of Ellice Avenue between Balmoral to Spence streets, in Winnipeg. It commemorates her and eight others (Ameena Abrahain, Donna DeWitt, Manuel Matias, Maude Matias, Mary M. Nelson, Eva Stempkowski, Frank Taylor, and Ruby Taylor) who lost their lives in the tragic Haslemere Apartments fire on 18 January 1974.
