This two-storey building on the south side of Portage Avenue, between Garry and Smith street, in Winnipeg was designed by the local architectural firm of Green Blankstein Russell and Ham. It was constructed in 1935 as home to the furrier firm of brothers Adolph Hurtig and Max Hurtig. It later hosted Dominion News, a business that sold newspapers and magazines from around the world, until closing in February 2022. The first-floor shop was vacant at the time of a 2025 site visit.
