Historic Sites of Manitoba: Friesen House (255 Hanover Street, Steinbach)

This two-storey residence was built in 1916, at a site on Steinbach’s Main Street, for businessman Jacob Reimer Friesen. Later, it was moved to a residential area on Hanover Street where it was renovated for use as a nursing home, nurses’ residence, and boarding house. Still later, it became a single-family residence. In 2004, it became a municipally-designated historic site.
