A wooden grain elevator at Fork River, on the CNR Winnipegosis Subdivision in the Rural Municipality of Mossey River, was built by the North West Commission Company and sold in 1923 to the Brooks Elevator Company. It merged, in 1929, with other grain firms to become Federal Grain. The elevator's initial 30,000-bushel capacity was enlarged, first to 45,000 bushels (1950) and later to 70,000 bushels (1951). It was sold to Manitoba Pool in 1972, serving as its B elevator here until closure in 1975.
