This Winnipeg-based company was founded in 1918 by J. R. Martin of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It operated no grain elevators until around 1921 when it purchased ones from Robert Boyd McClean (21 elevators), Leitch-McClean (17 elevators), Farmers Club (9 elevators), Kalmakoff and Korsekoff (1), Terminal Grain (1), Alberta Pacific (3), Stewart (2), Huxley (2), and North West Commission (1 elevator). It also built about 26 new elevators, bringing its total assets to 83-84 elevators.
The company also sold grain elevators to the Alberta Wheat Pool (6), Saskatchewan Wheat Pool (6), Stewart (3), Bawlf Grain (1), Pioneer Grain (1), and Pocock (1).
The company, by 1928 controlled by John Charles Gage and Henry Eugene “Harry” Sellers, merged its 55 remaining elevators into Federal Grain.
