This two-storey wood frame house on Cathedral Avenue in Winnipeg was built in 1904 by contractor W. White for Robert Crawford (1870-1959), son-in-law of Alexander Brown and a passenger agent for the Northern Navigation Company and Canada Steamship Lines. “The Preacher’s Tree” in its front yard is estimated to be over 160 years old. Crawford lived here with his family into the 1940s.
