This three-storey brick block on Sargent Avenue in Winnipeg was designed, built, and owned by Johannes Maris Sveinsson. The 32 feet by 50 feet building contained retail store space on its main floor and six apartments on upper floors. Known initially as the Sveinsson Block, by 1912 it was renamed the Connaught Block.
