Historic Sites of Manitoba: Clarke Building (219 Nelson Street West, Virden)

This two-storey brick building on Nelson Street West in Virden was constructed in July 1887 for jeweller George J. Clarke. Believed to be one of the oldest commercial buildings in town, later occupants included jeweller George Gabel and three generations of the Andrews family in an insurance agency.
