A pharmacy has stood on this site on Carman’s Main Street since 1898 when Andrew J. Gordon (1868-?) opened the Central Drug Store. In 1904, it became Pulford’s Drugs, operated by a Winnipeg company. Edward Milton “Milt” Sanders (1880-1973) purchased the business in 1906 and operated it as Sanders’ Drug Store until 1950 when his son Barrie Edward Sanders (1923-2020) took over.
Originally a two-storey building, with living quarters on the second floor, a 1928 fire reduced it to a single storey. In 1954, the building was moved back 30 feet and the present front section was added. It operated as Stevens Drugs from 1981 to 2009. It was still a pharmacy at the time of a 2020 site visit.
