Historic Sites of Manitoba: Braunstein Block (148 Higgins Avenue, Winnipeg)

This two-storey brick building on Higgins Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 30 feet by 80 feet, was designed and built in 1913 by shopkeeper Israel Braunstein (1876-1945) at a cost of about $6,000. Initially used as a store, with residential space above and at the rear, it was subsequently renovated into a private residence.
