A wooden grain elevator at Basswood, on the CPR Bredenbury Subdivision in what is now the Rural Municipality of Oakview, was built in 1926 by Manitoba Pool Elevators for a local cooperative association, on the site of a former Ogilvie Flour elevator dating from 1901 that had burned in 1922. The original 50,000-bushel capacity of the Pool elevator was increased in 1969 with a 110,000-bushel crib annex constructed on its east side. Closed on 30 November 1996, the entire facility was later removed from the site.
