This three-storey brick apartment block on Balmoral Street in Winnipeg was designed by the Montreal-based architects Brown and Vallance, and built in 1912 by owner Johannes Maris Sveinsson at a cost of about $100,000. The 114 foot by 80 foot building contained 22 apartments in its original configuration. Known at first as the Alhambra Apartments, it was renamed the Sheridan Apartments in 1931. It contains 24 apartments today.
