Educator, administrator.
He received a BA degree (1962) and Certificate in Education (1963) from the University of Manitoba. He served as the Vice Principal of Varennes School (?-1975), Principal of Minnetonka School (?-1981), Glenlawn Collegiate (1981-1985), Dakota Collegiate (1989-1995), and Assistant Superintendent (?-1988) and Trustee (2003-2014) of the Louis Riel School Division. On 27 February 1965, he married Carol Ann Pisnook at Christ Anglican Church. In recognition of his community service, he received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012) and a park in St. Vital was renamed Wayne Ruff Park in his honour (2015). He was inducted into the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame (2017).
