Wabanakwut Kinew

Musician, broadcaster, administrator, MLA (2016-2019), MLA (2019-2023), MLA (2023-2027), Premier of Manitoba (2023-?).
Born at Kenora, Ontario on 31 December 1981, son of Tobasonakwut Kaagagewanakweb Kinew and Kathi Avery Kinew, he moved to Winnipeg in his childhood.
He was elected as a New Democrat for the Fort Rouge constituency in the 2016 provincial general election and was re-elected in 2019 and 2023. He became the first First Nations Premier of Manitoba.
In recognition of his community service, he received a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (2022).
