In July 1950, a meeting was convened with the prospects of building a golf course in East Kildonan. The property was located at the north end of Watt Street. A design of the proposed layout for 18 holes was completed by Danny Stack. A nine-hole course was opened for play in 1952.
Work commenced on the present-day course in 1958. It was designed by Norman Woods of Vancouver. It used three holes from the original layout along with 15 brand new holes. The design uses Rossmere Creek that crosses seven fairways along with seven artificial gullies. The 18-hole golf course opened for play in 1959.
In 1959, plans were approved to build a six-sheet curling rink attached to the golf course clubhouse. The curling club opened on 23 January 1960 and became the first combined golf/curling facility in Manitoba.
In 2018, a decision was made to suspend the curling operation due to the need for costly repairs to the ice plant.
