Thompson, A.E.

Biography:  Born 1856, ON. Died 1910
Claims:  Homesteaded near Waskada. Moved to Melita in 1892. Operated a Butcher shop and dealt in cattle and horses. Elected to Mb. Legislature in 1899 and 1903. Moved to Vancouver in 1907.

Williams, John

Biography:  Born 1860, Wales; Died 1931, Melita
Claims: Mr. Williams was the earliest settler on the “Peninsula” south of town. He was a 1882. Councilor (1882), Reeve and MLA (1907). Became Minister of Agriculture in 1922.
