Agate Basin Culture Site

•  located on Deplaedt Site (DhMg-75) on SW 'A of 30-3-27 Wl where a rare specimen was found
•  interpret the very ancient settlement, circa. 10,000-9.000 years ago and the high quality ancient flaking

Scottsbluff Culture

• based on an isolated specimen of this very rare point found in a garden near Melita on 15-4-26 Wl (Warren 1980)
•  these points are from a very ancient, Paleo Period culture dating ca. 9000-8000 years old
•  represents the Piano peoples of the Paleo Period, when small groups of hunters stalked larger, now-extinct forms of bison

Avonlea Culture

•  located on the Pre-Emption Site (DhMg-35) on S lk of 12-3-28 Wl
•  the site of the largest number of reported Avonlea points in the region, e.g., the Manly Bell Collection (Goundry 1981)
•  a Middle Plains Woodland culture dating to ca. AD 200-700
•  Avonlea points are the earliest, and very distinctive, thin, delicate arrow points (Epp andDyck 1983; Vickers 1992)
•  Avonlea culture also produced distinctive large, conoidal Plains ceramic vessels
