Hugh Daniel McFadyen

Lawyer, MLA (2005-2007), MLA (2007-2011), MLA (2011-2012).

Grandson of Hugh McKay “Mac” Laughlin, he was elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly at a December 2005 byelection and was re-elected at the 2007 and 2011 general elections. He served as Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party (2006-2012) but resigned on 30 July 2012. In recognition of his community service, he received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012). He was inducted into the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame in 2017 as a member of the 1986 Canadian Junior Men’s Champions.
