Historic Sites of Manitoba: Canadian Pacific Railway Station and Water Tower (Whitemouth, RM of Whitemouth)

A railway station at Whitemouth, on the CPR Keewatin Subdivision in the Rural Municipality of Whitemouth, was built in 1923 to replace an earlier station from 1881. The design was a Type 15, with a one-storey wooden freight shed attached to a two-storey wooden section that had living quarters, waiting room, and railway office. The living quarters had a kitchen and living room on the main floor with bedrooms upstairs, with a full basement. Nearby stood a tower used to supply steam locomotives with water. The station was demolished in 1991 and the water tower was demolished in 1984.
