The Vimy Ridge School District was organized formally in March 1918, presumably commemorating the First World War battle field of the same name. A school bulding was erected on the southwest quarter of 24-32-23 west of the Principal Meridian, in the Rural Municipality of Mountain. The district was dissolved in 1967 when it became part of the Duck Mountain School Division, and the school closed. The school building and teacherage still stand at the site.
The teachers of Vimy Ridge were Mrs. Lila Burge (1919-1925), Maggie Kostiuk (1925), Michael Martin Russin (1925-1933), John Sheptack (1933-1937), Mary E. Shewchuk (1936-1938), Michael Sytnick (1943-1945), Taras Stephen Boyaniwsky (1945-1946), Elizabeth Wierbicki Bilash (1946-1947), Michael Kotyluk (1947-1949), Doris Chmelowski Dudar (1949-1950), Ann Marmach Krawchuk (1950-1951), Peter Filipchik (1951-1952), Mary Jane Sosnowski Phillips (1952-1953), Ann Krawchuk (1953-1954, 1956-1957), Dolores Potoroka Shmelski (1957-1958), Elsie Kowaluk White (1958-1960), Nadia Urbanowski Tkach (1960-1961), Lawrence Boguski (1961-1964), Nestor Serwa (1964-1966), and Stephen Negrich (1966-1967).
