Historic Sites of Manitoba: St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church and Cemetery / Assumption Chapel (Municipality of Rossburn)

Polish and Ukrainian settlers to this area in the Municipality of Rossburn built a log church and rectory at this site in 1900 and, the next year, a Roman Catholic parish was organized by Belgian priest Father Achille Dalaere. A second, larger church was destroyed by fire on 2 November 1928. The present church building, a municipally-designated historic site as of 1991, dates from 1929.
