Historic Sites of Manitoba: Sourisford School No. 906 (Municipality of Two Borders)

Established in April 1897, in what is now the Municipality of Two Borders, the district was dissolved in 1961, and henceforth students from this area went to Melita Consolidated School No. 440 or Edward Municipal School No. 2353. As of 2012, the building still stands on its original site.

Among the teachers of Sourisford School were George Archibald (1899), Jessie Furtney Kennedy (1900, 1907), Janetta Landreth Hamelin (1900), Maggie Robb (1900), Pauline Smith (1901), Annie B. Jamieson (1902), Miss A. Bailey (1902), Mary L. Wright (1905), Allis Baxter (1906), Mary E. Campbell (1908), Miss E. Dougall (1909), Gertrude Mason Russell (1909), Maude Rooks Shier (1915), Ruby McDonald (1915), Alice Lutz (1915), Guy Burnett (1916), Gertrude Bride McRae (1916-1917), Edith Stewart (1917-1918), Hattie Harrington (1918), Grace Davidson (1919), Clara B. Haskin (1919), Grace Mayes McKinney (1920), Mary Gillander Nichol (1923), Mildred Spurrier Holmes (1924), Grace E. Wright (1925), Vera Mason Heslop (1926, 1928), Katherine Gillander Snyder (1927), and Katharine Dempsey Conway (1930-1931).
