Historic Sites of Manitoba: Sioux Pass Conservation Monument (St. Ambroise Beach Provincial Park, RM of Portage la Prairie)

A plaque in St. Ambroise Beach Provincial Park, in the Rural Municipality of Portage la Prairie, commemorates Sioux Pass. This wetland restoration project was built in 1977, in the eastern-most part of Delta Marsh along the south shore of Lake Manitoba, by Ducks Unlimited Canada in cooperation with the Province of Manitoba, Raymond and Lillian Lamirande, and N. M. Paterson and Sons Limited. Funds for its development were donated in memory of John G. Searle.
