Historic Sites of Manitoba: Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church (Sclater, RM of Mountain)

This Roman Catholic church at Sclater in the Rural Municipality of Mountain was built in 1921 and blessed on 8 July 1925. Its congregants were mostly Polish settlers from the surrounding region. The church was unfinished until Father Iwanski added a steeple and renovated the interior. In 1973, its last four families agreed to join a congregation at Pine River, and sacramental records were integrated with those at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Sifton. Some records of the church are held at the Archdiocese of Winnipeg Archives. As of 2015, the building still stood vacant at the site.
