Historic Sites of Manitoba: Sara the Camel (Cochrane Street, Glenboro, Municipality of Glenboro-South Cypress)

Sara the Camel was conceived by members of the Glenboro and District Chamber of Commerce to draw attention to the community and the Spirit Sands located six miles north of Glenboro, in Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Standing 17 feet tall and weighing over 2000 pounds, designed by sculptor George Barone, she was erected at this site on 11 October 1978. Sara is now maintained by the Glenboro Community Development Corporation.
