A wooden grain elevator in Sanford, on the CNR Carman Subdivision in the Rural Municipality of Macdonald, was formerly operated by Manitoba Pool Elevators. Built in 1949, the elevator and crib annex replaced one destroyed by fire on 22 September 1948. The facility was closed in April 1996 and sold into private ownership. By 2014, conspicuous deterioration of its wooden annex had occurred but the extent of the damage was concealed by new metal cladding. Demolition of the elevator occurred between January and February 2019.
