The Rock Lake School District was established formally in June 1900 and a school building was erected the next year on the southeast quarter of 6-3-13 west of the Principal Meridian in what is now the Municipality of Cartwright-Roblin. It closed in 1961. The school building is no longer present at the site but a metal sign, dedicated on 3 July 1994, commemorates it.
