The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway (later CNR) depot in Rivers, in what is now the Municipality of Riverdale, opened on 21 September 1917 and closed in the early 1990s. In 1992 it was protected under the Heritage Railway Stations Protection Act. There is a community group actively working to restore it. Beside the building is a smaller structure brought here from Brandon North for use as a Via Rail station.
