The Riga School District was established in August 1915 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at NW11-32-21W in the Rural Municipality of Mountain.
Among the teachers of Riga School were Israel B. Zahl (1918-1919), James Cunningham (1919-1920), Miss R. Baru (1920), Kenneth Rogers (1920-1921), Ada Love (1921-1922), Arnie Laird (1922-1923), Hugh Forbes (1923-1924), David E. Jackson (1924-1926), William A. Ellison (1926-1927), Hugh R. McCaw (1927-1928), Jacob Arbuckle (1928-1930), Nicholas Kotyk (1930-1932), Homer Eshoo (1932-1933), Michael Kotyluk (1933-1935), William Kolisnyk (1935-1936), Michael P. Fedorchuk (1936-1939), Dmetro W. Basarab (1939-1941, 1943-1945), Michael S. Shewchuk (1941-1942), Isadore Syrnick (1942-1943), Walter E. Yury (1945-1947), Alex Harapiak (1947-1948), Nestor Cwihun (1948-1949), Hellar Kuzyk (1949-1950), Orest Ziolkoski (1950-1951), Melvin Boszyko (1951-1952), Alex Fedirchuk (1952-1953), Nettie Kuchma (1953-1954), Anne Muchumanski (1954-1955), and Neil Marmach (1955-1956).
The school closed in 1956 and remaining students went to Pine River School. The building was sold at auction and moved away. In 1967, the district was dissolved and its catchment area became part of the Duck Mountain School Division.
