The Pumpkin Plains School District was organized formally in May 1892 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at NW16-17-29W, near the village of Victor, in the Rural Municipality of Ellice. The district was dissolved in 1961 and its catchment area became part of the St. Lazare Consolidated School District and later the Birdtail River School Division.
